In a major milestone for Africa-Israel media relations, the Africa-Israel Media Network (AIMEN) and Israel’s Government Press Office (GPO) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to formalize cooperation in journalism, content sharing, and media capacity development.
The MOU establishes a framework that allows both institutions to share authentic news materials, co-organize media training programs, and facilitate access to verified information sources. This partnership will enable African journalists to cover developments in Israel and the Middle East with greater context, reducing dependency on secondary or biased sources.
Speaking at the signing ceremony in Tel Aviv, the Director of the GPO commended AIMEN’s vision, stating:
“This partnership symbolizes a bridge of truth between two regions that share more history and humanity than the headlines reveal.”
Under the agreement, AIMEN will also introduce an annual Media Fellowship Program in collaboration with Israeli media institutions, providing African journalists with on-site reporting experience in Israel.
AIMEN’s Executive Director added that the initiative reflects the organization’s long-term commitment to fostering transparency, diplomacy, and accurate storytelling. “This collaboration reaffirms our shared belief that responsible journalism can shape a more informed and peaceful world,” he said.
